And the good news is, there are some really delicious foods that can have some amazing benefits … a true reason to smile! 

Cheese, meat, nuts and milk are all high in calcium and phosphorus, which is a vital building block for the repair of damaged tooth enamel.

Vegetables and fruits also get the tick of approval, thanks to their high water content, which helps dilute damaging sugars. Anything with a bit of crunch is also good for strengthening the jaw muscles, and can have added benefits for the development of facial bones in young children.

And don’t panic, we’re certainly not suggesting you should give up guilty pleasures like chocolate and wine altogether. All we ask is that you are mindful of balance. The more food groups you include in each meal, the healthier your mouth will be.
