Tooth Fillings

Resurrecting your natural smile

iSmile Studio is a completely amalgam-free dental practice. We provide white fillings so we can restore your smile to its natural appearance. Tooth coloured materials are more biocompatible than amalgam fillings, require less preparation and minimise the amount of natural tooth that needs to be removed.

White fillings have become the preferred choice by iSmile Studio patients for treating new cavities or replacing existing amalgam fillings.

White fillings can be made from ceramic or a resin composite. They are colour matched to your tooth enamel, making them indistinguishable from your surrounding natural teeth so you can speak and laugh with confidence without having to worry about unsightly and unhealthy grey fillings.

Composite Resin

The composite material used at iSmile Studio resembles a tooth coloured paste, which is colour-matched to your natural tooth enamel. The composite material is placed on the tooth in layers and hardened by a special UV light. Your restoration is then carefully sculpted to the shape of the tooth.

An iSmile Studio composite restoration is ideal for correcting small blemishes and can be completed in a single appointment.

Ceramics

Requiring two appointment visits to iSmile Studio – the first to prepare your tooth and the second to place your restoration – a porcelain filling is similar to a dental crown. Made from a detailed impression mould, your filling is crafted in a dental laboratory utilising digital scanner technology.

Once it is assessed for fit and comfort your new filling is held securely in place with a specially formulated bonding agent, restoring your tooth’s strength and natural appearance.

Ceramic and composite fillings are much more biocompatible and are a more conservative approach to your oral health.

They are extremely strong and unlike amalgam metal fillings do contract and expand with heat and cold, similar to natural teeth. This minimises the possibility of tooth sensitivity, leakage and fracture of the restoration.
